Our Team

JAMAAL WORNUM, Founder & CEO

Born and raised in Boston, Jamaal has been tirelessly serving the youth of his community for over two decades, going above and beyond to enhance the lives of young people on and off the court. He founded One Love Sports Academy in 2014 in honor of his late brother Aaron. He believes that sports have a unique ability to improve physical fitness, mental health, and character development during the critical years of youth. Building relationships with young people is one of the most important things OLSA stand for, and Jamaal strives to teach, encourage, empower, and become a mentor to each and every one of them.

For Jamaal, this work is personal. He started One Love Sports Academy to give young people in his community opportunities that he never had growing up in Dorchester, and to provide them with mentorship and skills to help them grow and develop as players and as people. Ten years later, OLSA is still going strong, thanks to his unwavering dedication and commitment.

Jamaal has been honored by numerous local and state organizations for his dedication to the Boston community. He received the Heroes Among Us award from the Boston Celtics in 2021. He was honored at the Black Excellence on the Hill Awards by the Massachusetts Black and Latino Caucus in 2023. He has received grants from the City of Boston’s Office of Black Male Advancement, the Bill Belichick Foundation, the Treffler Foundation, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and more.
